We reaffirm the Christian moral standard of fidelity in marriage and celibacy in singleness, for all persons. This standard was practiced and taught by Jesus Christ. The widespread rejection of this standard by secular culture, and the frailty of human nature are reasons for the church to uphold and advocate this standard, not to retreat from it.
