Whereas, we have the opportunity through the United Methodist connection to impact urban areas across the country;
Therefore, be it resolved, that the General Conference supports the emerging Holy Boldness movement, which:
Affirms that urban ministry is based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Commits to strengthen urban congregations as the primary vehicle for urban ministry.
Seeks to develop urban communities economically.
Commits to eradicate racism.
Believes the church must work multiculturally to develop urban churches and communities.
Calls us to minister for Christ among the poor and marginalized.
Be it further resolved, that we encourage individuals and churches to take responsibility for the future of urban churches and communities.
