1. [Second sentence] Each The jurisdictions
shall elect six twenty persons for membership on a
ratio providing for an equitable distribution among the various jurisdictions,
based on the combined clergy and laity memberships thereof as determined by the
secretary of the General Conference, provided that no jurisdiction shall be
represented by fewer than two members. It is recommended that at least
half of the six there members elected
by each jurisdiction be women two laywomen, two laymen, one
clergywoman, and one clergyman. Of the persons elected by each Jurisdictional
Conference, at least one should be from a racial and ethnic group and at least
one shall be under thirty-one years of age at the time of election.
