2. The commission shall be composed of thirty
twenty-four members in the following manner: thirteen
ten members elected by the General Conference on nomination of the
Council of Bishops, in which number it is recommended that there be at
least two women, one young adult, one youth, two persons from racial and ethnic
groups and at least one shall be from the Central
Conferences; and ten seven additional members elected
by the general commission. It is recommended that not fewer than ten of
the total be women, and not fewer than two be persons over sixty-five years of
age; not less than four of the members should be from racial and ethnic groups,
including one each of the following: Pacific and Asian American, Black
American, Hispanic American, and Native American. It is recommended
that careful consideration be given to people with special interests and skills
in the history of United Methodism and that careful consideration be given to
inclusiveness, including representation from men, women, age levels, all racial
and ethnic groups, and Central Conferences.
