Whereas, major economic and social problems such as unemployment, violence, substance abuse, and homelessness continue in rural areas and in the inner city; and
Whereas, the vast majority of small membership churches are located in rural areas and in the inner city; and
Whereas, there is a continuing demographic movement directly between rural areas and the inner city;
Therefore, be it resolved, that the Office of Town and Country Ministries and the Office of Urban Ministries be continued in the structure of the General Board of Global Ministries and/or its successor organizations.
