Whereas, the first quadrennium has been used to establish the infrastructure that was needed to accomplish some of the goals. The plan's goals are the creation of 1,000 faith communities; the training and deployment of 2,000 lay missionaries; and the establishment of 3,000 outreach ministries, 500 church schools, 100 new congregations, and 100 revitalized churches; and
Whereas, the National Plan for Hispanic Ministries Committee voted to continue the plan at its February 17-19 meeting in San Francisco for the 1997-2000 quadrennium with 3.1 million dollars to fund the plan during that period; and
Whereas, the Native American Community believes that the plan should be continued;
Therefore, be it resolved, that the 1996 General Conference approve the plan's continuation for the 1997-2000 quadrennium and approve 3.1 million dollars to fund the plan during that period.
