2. [Second sentence] When the membership size, program scope, mission
resources, or other local circumstances so warrant
require, the Charge Conference may, in consultation with and
upon the approval of a written plan by the district superintendent,
by a two-thirds majority vote modify the organizational plans;
provided that the provisions of ¶ 244 are observed.
Authorization for a pastoral charge or church to be administered according
to a modified plan of organization adopted pursuant to this paragraph shall
expire at the end of four years and may be terminated at any Charge or Church
Conference by the district superintendent.
