Rights of the Unborn.--An ongoing discussion in society raises the question whether the developing fetus is a mass of tissue that can be nourished or disposed of upon the wishes of the pregnant woman or as potential life sacred in the eyes of God. While the rights of the pregnant woman must always be respected, we affirm that the developing fetus also has the right to be seen as developing life and, therefore, deserving of treatment that is due those who are made in the image of God.
