A General Administrative Council will meet regularly to coordinate the work of the general agencies, establish teams to address matters of concern to the individual boards, ensure alignment of the boards with the Church's mission, and explore emerging issues for The United Methodist Church. It will be composed of only one bishop, two non-staff members from each general Church agency, and the general secretary. This council will be chaired by one of the eight member bishops selected by the bishops. It will have no staff.
General secretaries of the eight boards will meet regularly to facilitate interagency cooperation.
