The elections of bishops in The United Methodist Church shall take place at the General Conference. The following procedures shall be utilized:

1. Divide members of the General Conference into jurisdictional voting units.

2. Jurisdictions nominate candidates according to the numbers needed for each jurisdiction.

3. All candidates nominated will be presented to the General Conference for election.
