The Committee recommends concurrence by substitution as follows:
Amend Paragraph 2103 as follows:
¶ 2103. Membership.--1. The total membership of the commission
shall be forty-three (43), -
eight,
composed of
a) T two bishops appointed by the Council of Bishops,
b) six Twenty-seven (27) persons elected by
the each jurisdictions from the annual
conference nominations, based on the following formula: North Central- 5,
Northeastern- 6, South Central- 6, Southeastern- 6 and Western- 4.
and
(1) It is recommended that at least four of the six
persons elected by each jurisdiction be include persons
from each ethnic groups --(Asian American, Black
American, Hispanic American, and Native American and
Pacific Islanders). At least two of the six shall be
women, and at least one under the age of thirty.
c) sixteen Thirteen (13) additional members to
be elected by the commission.
d) One member elected by Iglesia Metodista Autónoma Afiliada de Puerto Rico.
Further, it is recommended that of the additional members at
large, at least two four members shall be
elected from each of the five four racial and ethnic
groups (Asian American, Black American, Hispanic American, and
Native American and Pacific Islanders). Of the sixteen
thirteen additional members there shall be two young adults between the
ages of nineteen and thirty and two youth under nineteen.59
