Biographical Note
James Gilruth (1793-1873), born in Virginia, was a traveling minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church. He served in Ohio from 1819 until 1863 and then moved to Iowa. he died in Iowa in 1873.
Scope Note
The journals and reports cover a thirty year time span from 1833 until 1861. In addition to the journals there are various reports and articles on his Bible.
