J. Robert Sawyer is a collector of United Methodism postcards.
The collection contains two parts, namely, a book entitled The Chautauqua Birthday Book and eighty-two postcards that illustrate various Methodist and Evangelical United Brethren buildings. Postcards from Colorado, Texas and New Mexico areas make up the bulk of the group but the collection itself covers most of the United States. Churches are not the only images found here. There are some shots of Methodist hospitals, colleges and universities as well as other buildings. The Drew University postcard is removed and transferred to the University Archives.
