Helen Myrtle Hawley Mcallum Cannon was born on June 28th, 1888 in New York. She was the second wife of Bishop James Cannon Jr. They had no children together, however the Bishop does have a son named Richard from his first wife. Richard and Helen remain close, and write to each other frequently. Helen resided in Delaware and Virginia for the majority of her life. There are many letters that focus on finances associated between Helen and the Bishop. Helen died on April 21st, 1974.
The Helen Cannon papers contain letters between Helen and others associated with her and her husband, Bishop James Cannon Jr. There are documents on church membership to Immanuel Methodist in Townsend, Delaware, funeral information in regards to Bishop James Cannon, and letters to and from various attorneys and banks.
